New Kolchak Campaign!

The award-winning Kolchak: The Night Stalker – 50th Anniversary graphic novel has been out of print for a few years. We're now putting it back in print with a new cover, new design, and new content — as was originally intended.

WHAT DID WE ADD?

HOMAGE COVER
First and foremost we have an awesome cover by EV Cantada, with coloring by Zac Atkinson, and design by Tom Napolitano. It's an homage to the iconic Batman: The Killing Joke — We thought the connection was perfect for the photo-taking Kolchak, and it couldn't have come out better.

NEW STORY
There's also new content. The original graphic novel was supposed to have a bookend story that would connect all the stories in the anthology, but the artwork didn't come in time so we scrapped. Now, with art by Cantada and words by James Aquilone, we included it the new Monstrous edition.

NEW ESSAY
Another piece that was intended for the original edition was Kolchak historian Mark Dawidziak's essay about his friend Jeff Rice, the creator of Carl Kolchak. We've now included it.

NEW DESIGN
Tom Napolitano gave the interior a refresh, giving the book's design a newspaper vibe.

SIGNED COPIES
I'll sign any copies free of charge plus we'll have JK Woodward-signed copies. More below.

Fulfillment Done!

Yes, we did it! This was a massive campaign to fulfill, believe me. I definitely underestimated how quickly I could pack boxes and get them to the post office. Not only were there a ton of backers. You all ordered a ton of rewards, which in my estimation are all incredible!

Although a few of you complained about waiting for your rewards, many of you also reached out to me to say how much you love all the stuff we created and that the wait was well worth it.

One thing I learned from this campaign is that I need a team. I can't do this alone. Monstrous has been growing too fast. Soo, I'll be releasing details on how you can join our team.

There are a few orders I haven't been able to ship out. Those are a few dozen of the orders that included the J.K. Woodward (Batman homage) covers for the 50th Anniversary graphic novels. I sent messages to all those backers asking if it's okay that I send them the Jerry Ordway cover instead, since we sold out of the Colton Worley and Woodward covers. 

I printed only 1000 copies overall of the 50th Anniversary graphic novel so they're pretty rare — and they've been popping up on eBay selling for a lot more than their original price. Some are even going for $200. So if you don't want the Ordway cover, let me know. I'd love more copies for myself!!!

Yes, some shirts are shipping separately. If you haven't gotten yours yet, let me know. Some are still shipping.

And yes, tracking emails were sent out. They often wind up in Spam folders and some of you have missed it because it's coming from Monstrous. Some backers were unaware — shame on you — that that's the name of my publishing company.

Yes, we are at work on the next installment — and we already have one of the issues locked down. It's another big crossover with a character co-created by a comic book legend and one of my biggest inspirations. I'm very stoked.

Now are you ready for even more Night Stalker...

Monstrous has teamed up with Wandering Planet Toys to create the first official Kolchak: The Night Stalker figures. The campaign is running now and has already funded.

And before you ask, his look is based on the Jeff Rice books, not the TV show. Below are the prototypes, which come with a bunch of accessories. There's even a Kolchak lunchbox!

We're close to finishing fulfillment — and, boy, is my back aching! 

We're expecting to be done by next weekend. If you don't get a tracking number by February 28, let me know.

...And I have some awesome news to share!

Kolchak Meets the Classic Monsters appeared on Svengoolie last week.

Dave Acosta, who did the main cover for the collection, caught the moment and recorded it. How cool is that! We're famous!

I also wanted to update you on our Weird Tales campaign, which is kicking butt.

We're nearing 1000 backers and we've already hit our second stretch goal. We've also added a bunch of cool add-ons. Like Conan and Frazetta collector cards. These move fast — like, really fast — so grab them ASAP.

Of course, you can also get the Weird Tales graphic novel, exclusive T-shirts, and collectors coin, as well.

I'll also be opening SDCC 2025 convention boxes of Conan: The Barbarian cards live on YouTube in a few weeks — and I'll be giving some of them away! Bookmark the show and give me a follow.
