Kolchak Eras Cover Reveal! Sneak Peek at Kolchak Meets Count Crowley!
– Wed, Apr 09, 2025 at 01:03:24 PM
I just got the new cover for the Kolchak Eras anthology — and I freakin love it!
The anthology features 12 prose short stories that span Carl's career, from his time in World War II to his semi-retirement in the 1990s.
It was available through the campaign as a paperback and an ebook. If you bought the Kolchak Eras ebook in the previous campaign, you'll get this updated version with the extra stories. The previous version had 10 stories.
If you didn't pick this up during the Kolchak Meets the Classic Monsters campaign, you'll have a chance to add it when the BackerKit surveys are sent out.
Check below on how to get a Kolchak remarque on my new campaign.
1. Summer in Rome - James Chambers 2. The Shot Heard Round the Underworld - James Aquilone 3. The Devil Level - Bobby Nash 4. On the Road With Carl - David Avallone 5. A View With a Room - Jim Beard 6. The Black Volga - Will McDermott 7. Blood Witch - Owl Goingback 8. Up From the Underground - Stephen Mark Rainey 9. Devour the Dead - Naching T. Kassa 10. Wolf’s Clothing - Leverett Butts 11. L.A. Lizard - Lisa Morton 12. The Devil’s Chapel - Simon Bestwick
And here's a look at the interior.
Lukas Ketner has finished with the pencils for "Kolchak Meets the Werewolf and Count Crowley," written by David Dastmalchian. Here's the first page.
One of the rewards is a Kolchak remarque for either Issue #1 or #2 of the Omega Eleven. Zac Atkinson will draw ol' Carl write on the cover for ya. Isn't that cool?
Who knows — Kolchak may even show up one day in the Omega universe.
We're close to hitting our third stretch goal, which is a free sticker of our character Phantom Lupin. You'll already get a free Omega Eleven bookmark and a digital webcomic collection.
THE OMEGA ELEVEN – THE METROPOLIS JOB is the new chapter in the time-traveling comic series from Monstrous Books. Doctor Omega and the Artful Dodger must assemble a team of thieves and rogues, known as amalgams — including the vampire detective Orlock Holmes, mastermind Moriarty Mouse, and Miss Creation the Barbarian Bride — to pull off a number of heists to save the Omniverse from collapse.
The Omega Eleven (the last two members are yet to be revealed)
- Cover B, by ZacAtkinson, features our new characters — master criminal and world-class entertainer MoriartyMouse and the Maschinenmensch Maria.
- Cover B, also by Zac Atkinson, features another two new characters — vampire detective OrlockHolmes and his faithful companion Wattsfield.
We've also revealed another new character, Miss Creation – The Barbarian Bride. You can see her below.

Kolchak Meets Frankenstein Is Finished! Greatest American Hero Star William Katt Narrates Night Stalker Audiobook!
– Mon, Feb 03, 2025 at 12:34:29 PM
One comic down, two more to go.
I'm very happy to announce that Kolchak Meets Frankenstein by Steve Niles and George Quadros, with coloring by Zac Atkinson and lettering by Ferran Delgado is done!
Here's a page.
The issue will also include an intro by Steve Niles about his connection to Kolchak.
We're working very hard on the other two comics and the collection. We're hoping to have the BackerKit survey out in a couple of months and the rewards to you by the end of spring or early summer, much ealier than our Decemebr 2025 estimated delivery.
I'm also totally stoked to welcome Greatest American Hero star (and one of my favorite all-time actors) William Katt to the Kolchak family. He's narrated the Kolchak: The Night Stalker audiobook, coming from Blackstone Audio on February 11.
I asked Blackstone for a discount code for my backers and they came through.
You can preorder a download or physical copy of the audiobook at Downpour.com

Lukas Ketner Variant Is Here! Kolchak Meets Frankenstein Colored!

I'm very excited to reveal Lukas Ketner's full variant cover. If you want to add it to your order, you'll be able to do that when the BackerKit surveys are sent out — which will happen when we're closing to shipping the rewards.
Kolchak Meets Frankenstein by Steve Niles and George Quadros has been colored by Zac Atkinson and is ready for lettering.
Here are a couple of pages.
We're way ahead of schedule and are hoping to deliver the rewards in late spring / early summer. Expect to get the BackerKit survey (where you'll submit your address and shirt sizes) a couple of months before that.
I think a bunch of you have confused this campaign with the last one for the Kolchak: The Night Stalker novel campaign. I was doing fulfillment for that project the last few weeks. The Classic Monsters project is still being put together. We have three individual comcis and a hardcover collection to put together, not to mention the other rewards. Still, I'm confident we'll turn it around in a relatively short time.
Also, stay tuned for more exciting Kolchak news. We have some big things coming up.
Thank You! This Was Monstrous Books' Biggest Kickstarter!

The campaign is over! And what a campaign it was!
This was my most-backed and highest-funded Kickstarter ever, and Kolchak Meets the Classic Monsters is now the eight highest-funded comic book anthology in Kickstarter history, while the Kolchak 50th anniversary project is now 10th.
Thank you all for supporting the campaign!
I just received all the pages from George Quadros for Steve Niles' "Kolchak Meets Frankenstein" story, so we're well on our way to completing the comics. I'll keep you all updated on our progress in the coming months.
Next year you all will receive a link to a survey from BackerKit, where we'll collect your address, shirt sizes, and whatever other info we may need. At that time, you'll also get a chance to order more merch.
And just as one campaign ends, fulfillment beings on the Kolchak: The Night Stalker campaign.
My friends at GenSeven are Kickstarting a new graphic novel and the campaign ends soon. It's Charlie's Angels meets Django Unchained, and it was written by Sherman Augustus, actor from Into the Badlands & Stranger Things.
